IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REFORM OF INDUSTRY AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT OF 1957 IN THE USSR (BY THE MATERIALS OF CHELYABINSK REGION)

Abstract. The article analyzes the reform of industry and construction management that was implemented in the USSR in 1957 by the materials of Chelyabinsk region. The paper describes the establishment and activity of Chelyabinsk, and then the Southern Ural economic councils. The process of organizing a system of higher authorities destined to control the work of economic councils is considered. The article also reflects the positive and negative results of the reform, as well as the reasons for the return to management through branch ministries.
