Abstract. The research is devoted to the problem of the definition and differentiation of the meanings uncertain quantity, approximate quantity and probable quantity. In the work the language units of various levels - morphological, lexical and syntactic, used by native speakers with the purpose of the approximate description of the objects and phenomena of the world are considered.
