OCCASIONAL SEMANTIC CHANGES OF CONTEXTUALLY NON-TRANSFORMED PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS (PU)(ON THE BASIS OF THE ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES)

Abstract. In the article the analysis of the occasional semantic changes of the phraseological units in a context is presented. The ways of the component change of meaning in a context are considered under the condition of the absence of the change of the plan of expression of PU of two languages with different systems. The following cases are considered to be the occasional semantic changes being researched: expansion, the use of a basic PU in combination with an antonym or a synonym, the explanation of a PU, satiation, phraseological repetition and pun.
