Abstract. In the article the attention is paid to the functional peculiarities of semantic-stylistic means in an epic text poetics. The comparative-contrastive analysis of conversive and antonymic oppositions in the Buryat, Russian and English languages is carried out, their linguistic status and translational aspect are considered.
