THE PROBLEM OF FUTURE FORESIGHT IN THE MEDIEVAL MONGOLIAN CULTURE (ACCORDING TO MONGOLIAN, CHINESE AND WEST-EUROPEAN HISTORICAL-LITERARY SOURCES)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of future foresight by the medieval Mongols. As the markers the author considers prophetic dreams, prophecies, sacral symbolism, fortune-telling and analytical prediction presented in Mongols' innermost legend and in the notes of Chinese and West-European travellers. Historical-literary, folk-mythological and religious aspects of the theme are analyzed.
