Abstract. Flattery discourse is the complex communicative phenomenon based on an addresser's intentional properties manifesting in obsequious praising, in distorting information about an addressee with mercenary purpose through special language means, corresponding to communication (one communicative intention) goals and tasks. Sometimes flattery discourse can be considered as the compromise formation that is as the result of the harmonization between an addresser's and an addressee's interests. Flattery discourse contains three main components: 1) informative (propositional); 2) evaluating (modus); 3) pragmatic. So, we have found out that flattery discourse characteristic features are concrete commitment to an addressee, pragmatism, lucrative impulse, insincerity, obvious exaggeration, wish to manipulate flattery object.
