IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS BY LEARNING ADDITIONAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE CHINESE LANGUAGE)

Abstract. The author reveals the potential of the Chinese language optional course as the additional means of communicative competence development in English, studied as the main foreign language in non-linguistic higher education establishment, and considers the possibilities for improving such components of communicative competence as speech, language, social-cultural/intercultural, compensatory and educational-cognitive competences.
