FIRE POETICS IN ROMANTIC FANTASTIC PLOT

Abstract. The author analyzes the symbolism of fire in the poetic structure of fantastic plots of the Russian romanticists: N. Gogol', V. Odoevskii, M. Zagoskin, V. Olin and others, in this perspective determines the role of fire element, and also the features of its representation in the fantastic plot of the 1820-1830s, and tells that fire as dual in its essence element acquires the semantics of destructive beginning, all-destroying disaster, deceptive light, hellfire in romantic plot.
