DEFINITE ARTICLE EXTENSION TO NOUNS OF SUBCLASS UNICA IN THE MIDDLE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The author researches the definite article extension to the nouns of subclass Unica in the language of Middle English period, illustrates and analyzes the semantic and functional load, as well as the distribution of definite article with nouns of subclass Unica in different dialects of the Middle English language, and explains the variation of such use.
