WORDS POLYSEMY BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE RUSSIAN AND BURYAT LANGUAGES

Shagdarova Ayuna Bairovna
Buryat State University

Abstract. The article reveals the content of the notion "words polysemy". Word polysemy, according to author’s opinion, is determined by the need to denote new phenomena that occur in the human reality by means of existing language means. The semantic structure of the word is a hierarchy of meanings, a certain system of subordination. In different languages the combinations of words with the words with direct meaning in most cases literally coincide, and with indirect one – do not coincide. The author pays special attention to the analysis of lexical-semantic variants in the Buryat and Russian languages.
Key words and phrases: полисемия, бурятский язык, лексико-семантический вариант, внутренняя форма слова, первичное и вторичное значения, polysemy, the Buryat language, lexical-semantic variant, inner form of word, primary and secondary meanings
