BUSINESS DISCOURSE ABBREVIATIONS FROM COGNITIVE POINT OF VIEW

Abstract. This article is devoted to abbreviations study from cognitive point of view. It is proved that abbreviations, being categorimatic words, the result of nomination process, are knowledge units. Particular attention is paid to analysing the role and functions of abbreviation vocabulary in business discourse as well as its contribution to the concept sphere of professional linguistic personality. During the research the concept sphere frames of the businessman’s professional linguistic personality, verbalizing with the help of abbreviations, were revealed.
