TYPOLOGY OF PRAYER STATES IN THE ASCETIC WORKS OF SAINT IGNATIUS BRIANCHANINOV

Abstract. The article reveals the basic ideas of a doctrine about a prayer of Saint Ignatius Brianchaninov, outstanding ecclesiastical figure and spiritual writer of the XIX century whose creative work is a poorly investigated sphere of the modern science. The author aims to reveal the essence of the conception "sensible prayer", to classify the prayer states identified in the ascetic works of the Saint who describes in detail the process of prayer ascension of a soul to God distinguishing certain stages on this way.
