THE ILLUSION OF FREEDOM: A. HUXLEY "BRAVE NEW WORLD", G. ORWELL "1984", S. COLLINS, "THE HUNGER GAMES"

Abstract. Considering the problem of freedom, as well as the problem of power and its impact on humans in dystopias by A. Huxley, G. Orwell and S. Collins’s trilogy, we come to the conclusion that the origins of the social injustice root in the willingness of the individual for the slavish submission to the authoritarian subject, although the freedom of a person must be determined by his or her internal development rather than external factors. Beyond the personal growth of individual the desire for freedom is illusory and can only lead to the emergence of new power structures.
