IMPLICITNESS IN ART: FROM ANCIENT DAYS TO MODERNITY

Abstract. In the article the issues of implicit phenomena origin in art are touched upon. The etymology and development of such phenomena in different forms of art are considered. The question of implicit phenomena transformed into different types of artistic devices that subsequently resulted in the emergence of subtext is discussed. The topicality of the paper is in the exposure of the alternative functions of metaphoricalness running through different types of art and being one of the ways to tell subtext.
