DIALOGUE BETWEEN EAST AND WEST IN M. YU. LERMONTOV’S CREATIVE WORK BY ESTIMATION OF CRITICS AND RESEARCHERS OF THE XX TH CENTURY

Abstract. The article reveals the problem of a dialogue between the East and the West in the creative work of M. Yu. Lermontov in the aspect of its consideration by domestic and literary critics of the XX th century. Special attention is paid to M. Lermontov’s typology with the foundations of the Eastern consciousness and with the culture of the Arab-Muslim East in general. The factual material of the article is formed by M. Lermontov’s poem ("Angel", "Earth and Sky", "I Go out on the Road Alone", etc.), as well as the translations of his works into the Tatar language performed by S. Ramiev.
