CORPORAL AS TOOL OF SOCIALIZATION IN HARPER LEE’S NOVEL "TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD"

Abstract. The article considers the correlation of corporal categories manifestations in the text of the novel by Harper Lee and the process of main heroine’s social formation. "Physiology" of surrounding people’s emotions perception, the signs of social groups and the characteristics of individuals, inherent in her, led the heroine to the atypical for the social environment of the American South of the 1930s vision of racial discrimination problems. The heroine managed to feel the individuality of each person, including skin color, and completely solved for her the racial differences problem, which could not be implemented to full degree even by the most consistent defenders of justice in the novel.
