It is shown that the perception of historical reality and its further artistic embodiment can be expressed as the realization of a certain communicative act using different narration strategies. Special attention is paid to the chronotope models of historical novel, within which limits real historical, possible and historically impossible chronotopes considered from semiotic positions are singled out. The suggested structural-semiotic chronotope model allows conducting analysis within this genre generation.
