EMOTIONAL EVALUATION AS A MAIN SEMANTIC CHARACTERISTIC OF RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH EXCLAMATORY SENTENCES

Abstract. The article is devoted to the contrastive study of Russian and English exclamatory sentences as the means of expressing emotional evaluation. The analysis shows that emotional evaluation represented by these syntactic units can be directed towards a human being, object and situation on the whole. The author identifies lexico-grammatical categories and semantic groups of lexemes which are used for expressing emotional evaluation in both languages and reveals that when using in exclamatory sentence neutral in connotation lexical units can gain emotional-evaluative meaning component.
