CHARACTERISTIC OF AN ELECTRONIC BUSINESS LETTER FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF INFLEXIBILITY / FLEXIBILITY AND PHATICS / INFORMATICS (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract. The article presents a gradual characteristic of a verbal genre of electronic business letter by the example of the poles inflexibility / flexibility and phatics / informatics. This comparatively young linguistic phenomenon is characterized by high flexibility and heterogeneity, and for this reason it is not always could be described within the framework of binary oppositions. The advantage of the suggested approach consists in the fact that it allows taking into account and representing in full detail the specifics of an electronic business letter (by the example of the English language).
