Abstract. The article deals with the image of sunny Berlin which is represented in the poems of Sasha Chorny "The Sun" and "On the Balcony of Berlin". On the other hand, the image of the sun itself is marked by ambivalence which occurs at the intersection of opposite elements: "one’s own" and "someone else’s", "top" and "bottom", "light" and "darkness", "city" and "nature", "closure" and "openness", "ability to see" and "blindness".
