THE IMAGE OF HORSE AS A WONDERFUL ASSISTANT IN THE YAKUT FAIRY TALE

Abstract. In the article the author considers the image of horse as a wonderful assistant of the hero in the Yakut fairy tale where the horse transporting the main character in the other worlds acts as a carrier and warning him against the danger serves as an advisor. Some motives in the Yakut fairy and everyday tales connected with the horse correlate with the ancient rites and customs of the Sakha people which represent the ancient cult of the horse as a holy patron.
