THE COGNITIVE DIRECTION IN THE LINGUISTIC CONCEPT OF V. A. BOGORODITSKIY

Abstract. The article analyses the cognitive aspect of the linguistic concept of V. A. Bogoroditskiy. The backgrounds of his views on the cognitive processes in language are defined. These processes in the linguistic concept of the Russian scientist are examined by the example of categories of word building. The parallels between lexicological and word building theories of V. A. Bogoroditskiy and W. von Humboldt are demonstrated. The significant factor of the cognitive theory by V. A. Bogoroditskiy is the consideration of the interaction of language and thinking.
