Abstract. The article examines the creative work of the Adyghean writer Mikhail Lokhvitskii (Shapsug), Adzhuk-Girej, who left a mark in literature first of all as a historical novel creator. The most successful experience of such type a novel, according to the authors, is the dilogy ("Thunderous Boom", "Search for the Gods") describing the conquest of the Caucasus by a human for whom these events are a part of his own biography stained with ancestors’ blood. The paper identifies that the novel-dilogy is imbued with eschatological spirit and tends to explore the deeper contradictions insoluble in the history of mankind.
