THE MOTIVE OF SUICIDE IN THE POETRY OF N. A. NEKRASOV

Abstract. The article is devoted to one of actual problems of modern Nekrasov studies - to the motive of suicide in the poet’s works. The social and historical reasons for N. A. Nekrasov address to this motive and its functions in the poetic texts of the author are analyzed. The author of the article studies the cultural genesis of ideas about suicide, embodied in N. A. Nekrasov’s poetry and ascending as stated in the article to the sentimentalist tradition, as well as to the canon of a "terrible" ballad and mythological representations. The features of artistic presentation of death image in the texts are also considered.
