LOW INFORMATIVE STATEMENTS AS A UNIVERSAL MEANS OF CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the implicit content of such less informative statements as stock phrases and clich?s. Taking into account the pragmatic significance of stock phrases and clich?s in the arsenal of language means, the authors consider the problem of connection of assertive and conclusive meanings of less informative statements. It is established that among many stock phrases and clich?s the implicit part of the content is pragmatically more important than explicit, due to the communicative purpose of stock phrases and clich?s.
