COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF GENERALIZED NEGATION IN THE ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

Fairuzova Anzhela Rasulevna
Ufa State Petroleum Technological University

Abstract. The article examines a special semantic type of negative sentences - generalized negation which has its own specific means of expression in the languages of different structure - English and Russian. The author provides comparative structural-semantic analysis of the sentences with generalized negation in the mentioned languages. On the basis of the adopted systematic principle the researcher identifies the structural models of the sentences with generalized negation and argues that the universal model of negation typical for both languages testifies for nonhermeticity of borders between two typological types of negation.
