Abstract. In the article the author gives a typological characteristic of the interpretations of Don Juan’s image and presents methods for identifying a new interpretation of the "eternal image" in world literature both as a mytheme that is a name of the hero containing the traditional plot, and a paradigm of subsequent interpretations in world culture.
