ALLUSION AS A MEANS OF CREATION OF WOMENS CHARACTERS IN THE DILOGY "THE RAINBOW" AND "WOMEN IN LOVE" BY D. H. LAWRENCE

Abstract. In the article allusion as a special technique of intertextuality and its role in the creation of womens characters in the dilogy by D. H. Lawrence "The Rainbow" and "Women in Love" are studied. The author singles out the main types of allusions and identifies their functions and peculiarities of using in the text. Particular attention is drawn to the analysis of precedent names and facts, and their role in creating the multifaceted womens characters of the novels.
