STYLISTIC ASPECT OF THE TRANSLATION OF STORIES BY O. HENRY INTO THE RUSSIAN AND TATAR LANGUAGES

Abstract. By the example of short stories by O. Henri the article examines some peculiarities of translation of stylistically marked vocabulary into the Russian and Tatar languages. Because of differences in the system and the structure of the languages under study, translation transformations conditioned by linguistic and extralinguistic factors are revealed. The cases of the loss of certain semantic components, as well as the accumulation of meanings are noted.
