THE USE OF COMPARATIVE-ETYMOLOGICAL METHOD IN STUDYING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article deals with the possibilities of the use of comparative-etymological method in teaching foreign languages. Special attention is paid to the etymological analysis and the etymological comment as important components of this method. The productivity of comparison of the foreign language under study with the previously studied and native languages at different language levels is substantiated not only in linguistic but also in non-linguistic higher education establishments.
