RENAMING OF TOPO OBJECTS ON THE TERRITORY OF SOUTH YAKUTIA OF THE SAKHA REPUBLIC: LINGUISTIC ASPECT

Abstract. The article examines the transformation of South Yakutia toponymic nominations in the process of their historical development. The authors analyze both linguistic and extra-linguistic factors of renaming, describe the changes occurring in the political, social and intercultural spheres of the society. The paper considers the schemes of renaming according to linguistic criterion and identifies both re-nominations in the same language and re-nominations of toponyms with the change of language.
