Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of elaborating the content of a regional component of a foreign language textbook. It is proposed to model the cultural space, guided by the value approach, according to which national values as the content basis of the projected component are represented through the local specificity of their realization by the example of Murom in the Vladimir region. This approach contributes to the preservation and development of students’ national identity in the context of cross-cultural communication.
