ACTION CONCEPTUALIZATION BY DENOMINAL PHRASAL VERBS

Abstract. The article analyzes the peculiarities of action conceptualization by the English phrasal verbs formed from the nouns of three semantic groups - names of animals, body parts names, names of tools. The article sums up the results of the study of the role of conceptual bases of semantics in the processes of linguistic categorization of the reality. The study is conducted on the representational linguistic material taken from dictionaries, corpuses and literature.
