VALUE PARADIGM IN RUSSIAN AND WEST-EUROPEAN CULTURE (BY THE MATERIAL OF RUSSIAN, ENGLISH AND GERMAN PAREMIOLOGY)

Gulyaeva Evgeniya Vyacheslavovna, Makarova Mariya Valer'evna
Volgograd Institute of Management (Branch) of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration

Abstract. The work is devoted to the comparative study of a certain section of Russian, English and German paremiology in order to reveal the national and cultural dominants in the minds of the native speakers of these languages. The authors of the article identify the universal and ethno-cultural values related to the notion "lifestyle" (attitude towards work, to the boundaries of "one’s own" and "somebody else’s" living space, etc.), and represented in the lexico-phraseological fund of the Russian, English and German languages. The results of the research can be used in the practice of teaching a foreign language in higher education establishments and schools in order to create students’ and pupils’ cross-cultural competence and tolerant attitude to the mentality of the representatives of other linguistic cultures.
