CHURCH SLAVONIC LANGUAGE IN THE PHILOSOPHICAL AND LINGUISTIC DISCOURSE OF THE XX CENTURY: ON THE ISSUE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HISTORY OF LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article considers the influence of the Church Slavonic tradition on the development of the Russian language and culture. Particular attention is paid to philosophical and linguistic studies, which offer alternative options for the development of the literary and written language in Russia. One of the scenarios of the potential past is outlined in accordance with the views of G. G. Shpet and G. P. Fedotov, who considered the Greek language as an alternative to the Church Slavonic language. By the example of A. Isachenko’s article the possibility of the birth of literary language on the Russian basis in the XVI century on the territory of Novgorod is studied.
