EVALUATION OF QUALITATIVE-RELATIVE ADJECTIVES IN THE MODERN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the category of evaluativity of qualitative-relative adjectives - a vivid feature of the functioning of such lexemes. "Making qualitative" of relative adjectives is an active process in the modern Russian language. In the paper different groups of qualitative-relative adjectives are considered from the point of view of their evaluation. The dependence of the development of adjectival evaluation on the semantics of the producing noun is revealed. The author emphasizes the subjectivity of the evaluative meaning developed by qualitative-relative adjectives.
