TURKISH "LITERATURE OF FACT" / NON-FICTION (COLLECTION OF STORIES "SOMETHING HORRIBLE" BY SEVIL ATASOY (2015))

Abstract. The article by the material of the book "Something Horrible" by the Turkish authoress Sevil Atasoy examines a new genre of national detective prose - non-fiction presupposing the reference to real documents and facts and author’s personal practical experience. The book "Something Horrible" is a collection of detective stories, the style dominants of which is factual nature and realization of personal experience of the authoress who worked in the sphere of forensic medicine. The paper concludes that S. Atasoy’s novelistics develops the traditions of national detective prose and fits well into the "mainstream" of Turkish mass literature of the turn of the XX-XXI centuries.
