Abstract. Hearing plays a very important role in human perception of the surrounding reality. The article helps to get a more complete picture of the semantics of the German verbs of hearing, since not all the German verbs of hearing are described in current research and lexicographic sources, but only a small part of them. The undertaken study of the German auditory verbs makes it possible to reveal a large number of synonyms in the structure of the lexical units under consideration. The verb meanings have been studied using the component analysis. In the course of the research, a number of additional features have been revealed in addition to the seme composition of meanings.
