THE RUSSIAN WORLD: LINGUISTIC ASPECTS OF THE FORMATION OF CIVILIZATIONAL IDENTITY

Abstract. The article deals with the influence of a language on cultural mentality. The specificity of the Russian world as a civilizational entity is substantiated from the standpoint of sociolinguistics. Basing on the concept of the linguistic worldview the authors describe some civilizational characteristics of the Russian world, correlating with the peculiarities of the language practices of the Russian-speaking community. The perception of some linguocultural concepts related to the Russian mentality is analyzed. The study substantiates the significance of the Russian language as a factor constituting civilizational identity.
