SEMANTIC AND PRAGMATIC DIFFERENCES OF THE TERMS "РЕЙДЕР" - "RAIDER"

Abstract. The article is devoted to the terms "raider" - "рейдер" , the use of which at the moment is characteristic for the sphere of economics. Originally the terms "raider" - "рейдер" were used in military affairs. The loan word "рейдер" acquired additional meanings due to changes in the economic system of Russia in the early 1990s. In the comparative analysis of dictionary entries and contexts, in which these terms are used, not only similarities, but also semantic and pragmatic differences in their use in Russian and English are revealed.
