Abstract. The article deals with the problem of the scientific research of the basic principles of the genre formation in the Yakut poetry of the late XX - the early XXI century expressed in the development of meta-genre forms, namely, the cycle poem (by the example of one of I. M. Gogolev’s significant works "The Song of the Lena"). In the literary system of I. Gogolev’s individual author’s creativity, there is assimilation of the genre possibilities of the lyrical cycle and the poem within the framework of a single literary structure in qualitatively new unity. The poet’s originality is manifested in the creative modification of folklore genres (proverbs, sayings, legends) within cyclization.
