RESEARCH OF ENGLISH-LANGUAGE HUMOROUS DISCOURSE IN LINGUO-DIDACTIC PERSPECTIVE

Abstract. In the article, the use of English-language humorous discourse in teaching English to university students is considered, and the possibilities of teaching the basics of the rhetoric, discursive and linguo-cognitive analysis by this material are discussed. Having studied the linguo-didactic potential, the author draws a conclusion about the possibility of using texts of humorous nature in the process of forming foreign-language communicative competence. Students’ acquaintance with such texts contributes to their outlook broadening, acquisition of knowledge and ideas about national and cultural specificity of the language under study. In the work, the examples of using humorous texts during English classes are presented.
