INNOVATIVE FORMS OF STUDENTS’ LEARNING ACTIVITY EVALUATION AS A MEANS OF INCREASING THE MOTIVATION TO STUDY A FOREIGN LANGUAGE WHILE THE LAST YEARS OF MASTERING THE BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAMME

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of the modern functions of the evaluation of the learning activity of bachelor’s degree students. Two alternative evaluation systems are considered: the ungraded system and the rating system, each of the systems can successfully realize the motivational potential of evaluation. The paper analyzes practical opportunities and the ways of their realization. The author substantiates the concrete mechanisms and models of the effective implementation of the rating system while teaching the practical course of English during the last years of mastering the bachelor’s degree programme. The study presents the examples of essay types, the variants of their evaluation and proposes the structure of the student’s portfolio as a form of qualitative feedback.
