LEXICO-SEMANTIC REPRESENTATION OF NUCLEUS AND CORE OF THE CONCEPT PARDON IN THE RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH LEGAL TERM SYSTEMS

Abstract. The paper examines the structure of nuclear lexemes and their synonyms representing the concept PARDON in the Russian and English (British) legal term systems. Essential conceptual features of pardon as a juridical term are examined in the comparative aspect. The findings indicate that the nucleus and core of the analysed concept are represented differently in the Russian and English legal term systems. The differences involve the quantitative structure of the concept’s nucleus and the qualitative characteristics of its core and nucleus, which is associated with the peculiarities of the Russian and British legal systems.
