THE ENGLISH SCHOOLCHILD’S GAMING DISCOURSE AS MULTIMODAL COMMUNICATION

Abstract. The article examines the English schoolchild’s gaming discourse as verbal communication to realize the modality of reality and irreality (necessity/obligation; possibility/impossibility; imperative; intentional; optative; hypothetic). The authors analyse lexico-grammatical means realizing these types of modality in the English schoolchild’s discourse at all the stages of an outdoor game (beginning of the game, course of the game, the end of the game). The gaming discourse is considered as multimodal communication.
