SOCIAL NETWORKS USE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING PRACTICE

Abstract. The article deals with the issues related to the process of the formation of foreign-language information competence through social networks. The author cites a fragment of the research conducted among students and foreign language teachers. Students, who participated in the research, are of the direction "Pedagogical Education", the specialisation - "Foreign Language". This research was aimed at identifying the readiness of students and teachers to social networks inclusion in educational process. The study was carried out by the method of questioning. The opinions and expectations of teachers and students regarding social networks use in foreign language teaching practice within blended learning are considered and analysed. The analysis of opinions on the issue of the effectiveness of social networks use for the development of various types of speech activity is conducted. The presented research allows evaluating the pedagogical applicability of social networks in foreign language teaching practice.
