TYPOLOGY OF MISTAKES IN AUDIO-VISUAL TRANSLATION FOR DUBBING

Abstract. The article suggests a typology of the translator’s mistakes in audio-visual translation for dubbing. The paper describes the peculiarities and unique features of audio-visual works and audio-visual translation process itself, identifies specific requirements and restrictions typical of translation for dubbing. Taking into account the above mentioned information, the authors develop a classification of the translator’s mistakes in this sphere and conclude on the influence of certain mistakes on a recipient’s perception of audio-visual work in relation to dynamic equivalence.
