Ethno-Literary Identity through the Lenses of Multicultural Artistic Discourse by the Example of the Arabic American Novel "Arabian Jazz" by Diana Abu-Jaber

Abstract. The article examines the problem of identity by the example of an Arabic American novel that belongs to cross-cultural literature. By means of linguistic analysis, the paper identifies the features of identity and the feeling of duality in the situation of biculturalism. Originality of the study involves combination of linguo-literary and linguo-stylistic methods to explain the psychological phenomenon of marginality. Linguo-literary analysis has revealed interrelation of narrative and ethnic identity, indicated its dialogueness, dualism and reflexivity.
