Valency Potential of Verbs of Spatial Localization in the German Language

Abstract. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of valency of the German verbs with the categorial meaning of spatial localization. For the first time the paper examines the valency potential of verbal bases of spatial localization from the viewpoint of the cognitive approach. The conducted analysis has allowed the author to identify and describe syntactic models of locative verbs with spatial references and indicators represented in predicate valency structure as obligatory actants.
