Comparative Analysis of Auditory Perception Verbs in the Erzya and Finnish Languages

Abstract. The article provides a comparative study of auditory perception verbs in the Erzya and Finnish languages. Auditory perception verbs are classified into three levels taking into account the subject’s auditory ability. The emphasis is on a comparative semantic analysis of the verbal units under study. Nuclear and peripheral auditory verbs in the Erzya and Finnish languages are identified, their semantic characteristics are described, semantic peculiarities are considered, certain universal meanings are determined.
